Professor Pat Price had the opportunity to participate in London Global Cancer Week 2023 in many capacities. She was both a speaker and moderator, and also helped launch the ten-point plan for a radical and sustainable national cancer strategy in the UK with The Lancet Oncology.
London Global Cancer Week: Radiotherapy Session
The week-long event in November consisted of a series of co-ordinated international discussions and events around the world, all focused on the global war against cancer. As a leader in the clinical oncology field, Professor Price was able to direct the efforts in the creation of radiotherapy essentials documents. Along with her partners at the Global Coalition for Radiotherapy (GCR), she hosted the session, “How to integrate Radiotherapy in Cancer Control Plans”.

Sustainable National Cancer Control Plan
Professor Pat Price co-authored a ten-point plan for a radical and sustainable national cancer strategy in the UK, published in The Lancet Oncology, and presented at the House of Commons. Professor Price said:
We know that from research, countries that have a cancer plan have improved survival, and sadly the UK, we think have misstepped and decided to integrate this into a general plan and we really feel strongly we need a designated cancer control plan, and it needs to be radical, and it needs to really catch up with cancer.
